After years of totally disorganised public transport, and of projects delayed or canceled because of corruption, Bangkok has finally obtained two metro lines, even if they are managed by different operators and with stations which are not always convenient. I ride for one station until the terminal by the river side. From there, I board a public boat, these two means of transport enabling me to avoid trafic. We head upstream in front of luxurious hotels until the old Bangkok, where I can see the temple of dawn (Wat Arun) to the west and the ancient royal palace and Wat Pho (temple of the reclining Buddha) to the east.
